Texas Health Resources is investigating a report of an infected cat found at the Houston Methodist Children’s Hospital.

The cat was brought in by a pet owner who had previously had it euthanized due to a cat allergy.

The cat’s owner said the cat was euthanased due to symptoms of a cat infection and later found dead.HRCH, the agency that runs the Houston methodist and Arkansas Children’s Hospitals, said in a news release it is not aware of any reports of a case of a hospital patient contracting the virus from an animal.HCRH said the hospital is investigating and that it is working with the animal health department to provide appropriate measures to keep the animal safe.
