Hospitals and health care facilities across the U.S. have reported the outbreak of coronavirus infections, with more than 1,600 confirmed cases.
More than 300 patients were treated for coronaviruses in Texas, the state that hosts Mary Washington, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The hospital in Houston has confirmed the infection, the agency said on its website.
The first patient was admitted to the hospital on Friday.
The CDC said the first patient who tested positive for the virus was treated at a Texas hospital on March 23, two days after he tested positive.
The first patient’s infection has been confirmed in multiple other patients, the CDC said.
The Texas Health and Human Services Department said it was investigating the death of a patient who had tested positive, and the state is assisting the Texas Department of State Health Services.
A Texas hospital is providing free care for all the patients at the hospital, and a temporary hospital is also being set up at the facility, the department said.
