A U.S. Army veteran who died at a Mount Sinai Hospital in China on Feb. 12 is buried with his family and fellow soldiers.

Army Sgt. Jason Smith was found dead in a stairwell of the Mount Sinti hospital on Feb 12.

His body was identified through DNA analysis of tissue.

His mother, Michelle, told the Associated Press that her son, who served in Afghanistan, was a devoted Army veteran and a “very well-liked, loving man.”

She said the soldier, who also served in the Navy and Air Force, died from a heart attack.

A memorial service will be held at the Mount Si Hospital in Beijing at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
