A pediatric hospital in Texas is offering a heart-healthy diet to prevent children’s cardiac deaths.
The program will be launched in Texas next week, and it will include a nutritional supplement called the Miracle Fruit and its unique formula, according to the Texas Tribune.
Miracle Fruit is a combination of the fruit, honey and lemon, according the article.
The product is intended to help prevent the heart attack and stroke that often follow a heart attack.
Miracle fruit is usually sold in grocery stores and in pharmacies.
The Miracle Fruit formula includes the fruit in its formulation, which contains 1 tablespoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1/4 cup of puree, according ToewsHealth.org.
Miracle fruits are known for their health benefits, especially the high concentration of antioxidants and fiber.
In addition to preventing heart attacks and stroke, Miracle Fruit has also been shown to help children’s immune systems.
Miracle is available in the Dallas Children’s Hospital and the New England Children’s Medical Center.
Miracle was developed by Dr. Darlene Tannenbaum, a professor of pediatric cardiology and director of pediatric cardiac medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
The formula includes a small amount of Miracle Fruit juice, which is usually a source of vitamin C, the Tribune reports.
Tannanenbaum told the Tribune that the formula has been shown in other studies to be effective in preventing heart attack, stroke and heart defects.
In other words, it is really just a very healthy combination of healthy ingredients, said Tanninbaum.
Tannis said the company is testing the product in children in Dallas Childrens Hospital, but did not disclose the exact number of children being treated with the product.
“We’re very excited about this,” Tann-enbaum said, adding that she hopes to see Miracle Fruit on shelves nationwide in the next few months.
The company is also working on another nutrition supplement called Miracle Juice.
According to Toewshealth.org, the product is supposed to be an addition to the regular diet for children who are overweight or obese.
Tanashebs Miracle Juice is also available in grocery and pharmacy stores nationwide, the company said.
